Guess an introduction would be appropriate. My name is Baji (pseudoname for privacy purposes). For as long as I can remember, I have been interesteed in the idea of building and how things worked. At five, I was dismantling remote controls and appliances just to understand what made them operate. It was interesting to me, but I couldn't find an outlet to practice this skill for most of my childhood, so it layed dormant, until I found Myspace in...2003-04? Can't remember. Here, I could update my profile with layouts, pictures, and even music players to style my page. Felt like it was truly MY SPACE lol. I hadn't realized at the time, but I was learning core HTML fundamentals that would eventually be expanded upon as I got older. By HS, I was taking computer classes (that bored me), but it gave me time to browse my favorite sites (miniclip, newgrounds, etc) while at school. Fast forward a decade, and I find myself as an adult working in IT. I had a knack for helping simple troubleshooting for family/friends, and I spent as much time around computers as a fish has spent in water, I figured it would be a perfect fit. A few years into air-dusting old towers and running virus scans, I realized I wanted a career that would allow me to be more expressive and creative with my work. So, I deecided to pivot into web development. Currently, i'm still in the hobby phase, but I working on building a portfolio worthy enough to get work. Taking UX classes as well for versatility. It's a tough swim upstream, but it beats fixing phones for a living.
